As 2012 marks RP's 10th year of innovation, Republic Polytechnic in Singapore celebrated it with a special Technology Forum which brings together the three Cluster areas (representing the Supply Chain /Logistics, Healthcare & Wellness and Environment Clusters). Stephen Su, General Director of IEK, was invited to deliver a speech on “Transformation for Open Innovation in Taiwan” at the Programme for Republic Polytechnic Technology Forum 2012 on 7 September. In his speech, Stephen first pointed out some strengths and challenges in Taiwan industries. He talked about one of the unique strengths being the public-private partnership (PPP) model for collaborative research and commercialization. Then he described future open innovation in Taiwan. Contrary to traditional thinking, innovation should be the transformation of knowledge into money, not just investing money for research only. Also He proposed more emphasis would be placed on needs discovery before solutions and technology innovations. And Finally he concluded with how to keeping continuous transformation for Open Innovation in Taiwan. It would be highly important to control and leverage Service-based Applications Ecosystems in the future, which would be composed of 4 value-web elements: System platform, value-add apps, business operations, and cultural innovation.

We are very pleased to present his presentation in PDF format for your reference.
