COVID-19 has thrown the world into a global recession and marked the beginning of the 0-Touch Economy. Whether the 0-Touch Technology or Services can bring about real economic benefits for the users or the market depends on whether the technological innovations and value-add can shorten the distance in terms of time and space between people or objects in the 0-Touch Economy. The Industry, Science & Technology International Strategy Center (ISTI), of the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) has proposed a framework of four innovative models for the program “0-Touch Economy, 0-Distance Innovation,” to assist industries in the exploration of their own strengths and in the development of strategies appropriate to the current challenges.
